About our school

Canobolas Public School was established in 1878 in the orchard area six kilometres south west of Orange. It is a six teacher school set in tree-studded grounds with many beautiful gardens around the buildings. The new classrooms and library provide modern and practical learning spaces and a visual contrast to the historic "old school". The school has always had a strong community bond and this continues to grow in strength. Each child in the school is seen as an individual and the curriculum is planned accordingly to cater for each child's needs. Commitment to learning is valued as is commitment to each other's success. Many opportunities are presented to students during their years at Canobolas Public School including the chance to perform, compete and participate in events around the region and beyond. The school promotes excellence and encourages students to achieve their personal best, every time. This is achieved by providing quality educational programs incorporating current technologies in quality supportive learning environments. Students are immersed in technology in its various forms on a daily basis. The school operates an outstanding concert band program for student in Years 3-6 in conjunction with Orange High School. Creative and Performing Arts are highly valued in the school context. Canobolas Public School belongs to the Orange Small Schools' Association (OSSA).Students participate across a range of curriculum opportunities created by OSSA, including a Science Day, swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals and various team sports. Canobolas Public School is a small school with a big heart.
